Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehama said he will step down as head of government and party leader in the next few days. He made this announcement in view of the failure of the talks between the political parties on the formation of the coalition government.

Another political party known as Neos was involved in the negotiation process. The party withdrew from the talks last Friday.
The far-right Freedom Party won an unprecedented victory in Austria's general election last September. However, other political parties rejected the possibility of forming a coalition government with Freedom Party leader Herbert Kickle.
In this situation, many analysts say that because the talks to form a coalition government have failed, the conservatives may turn to talks with the far right of Austria or new elections may be held in the country.
In last September's elections, the Freedom Party got about 29 percent of the vote. Chancellor Carl Neumann's conservative People's Party was in second place. The party got 26.3 percent votes. Social Democrats are in the third position with 21 percent votes.
The Freedom Party is considered friendly to Russia. Earlier the party led the ruling coalition. The party is in favor of fresh elections. Because, since September, the popularity of the party has gradually increased in public opinion polls.
In a statement posted on social media X, the Freedom Party said that three months have already been wasted in post-election coalition talks. But this time, instead of stability, there was chaos.
Freedom Party leader Herbert Kickle has promised to build an 'Austrian fortress' to ensure the country's security and prosperity.
The party advocates a tough stance on legal issues for immigrants. The party even promoted the idea of 'remigration' of immigrants. This includes repatriation of aspirants.
