Women's vote can be Kamala's 'trump card'

Last week at New York's Madison Square Garden, Donald Trump handed a 'gift' to Kamala Harris, calling Puerto Rico a 'floating scum'. Although he did not say it himself, the people from Puerto Rico in Pennsylvania were very upset by his words from the election meeting. Before she put out the fire, Trump sent another gift to Kamala.

At a rally in Wisconsin last Wednesday, Trump said whether they like it or not, he will protect women.

Trump admitted that his advisers said such things were rude, so it was better not to say them. He said, 'But I am the president, I want to protect the women of the country. I will keep them safe whether they like it or not.'

Donald Trump's problem with women is well known. Married three times, addicted to another woman while having one wife. When his third wife Melania gave birth to a new child, Trump sparked a scandal by having an affair with a porn star.

In a leaked video during the 2016 election, Trump can be heard saying that he is a star and can do whatever he wants with girls.

During the current election campaign, Trump has attacked Kamala in various vulgar terms, calling her stupid and weak. Some of her supporters did not hesitate to call Kamala a biographer.

Thus Trump is in danger by presenting himself as the protector of women. It is being said by the women, whether Trump will protect the girls, it is more important to protect the girls from him. In the last two years, when, how, what he behaved towards women, what comments he made, everyone has now started looking anew.

Kamala said in a statement that it is clear from Trump's words that he does not believe in women's rights over their own bodies and the freedom to make decisions. A video montage (collage) of Trump's speeches at various times in his campaign has been released, which makes it hard to say anything other than 'disgusting'.

Trump has put himself in danger by presenting himself as a defender of women. It is being said by the women, whether Trump will protect the girls, it is more important to protect the girls from him.

Abortion topic

A major issue in this election is women's freedom to make decisions about abortion. In 2022, the Supreme Court overturned the legal guarantees on abortion that American women had enjoyed for half a century.

Trump boasted that the decision was only possible because he appointed three conservative justices to the Supreme Court who are anti-abortion. It didn't take long for Trump to realize that this legal victory would be a thorn in his side politically.

He knows that, while popular among his ultra-conservatives and Christians, the majority of women and men in the country are in favor of preserving abortion rights. Now he's trying to change his tune before the election, but there's no reason to think that will pan out.

The 'Gender Gap'

    Donald Trump

Using the abortion issue in the 2022 midterm elections, a Trump-backed 'red wave' was blocked. Kamala hopes that this incident will repeat itself. That this optimism is not unfounded, there is ample evidence from public opinion polls.

50.5 percent of the US population is women. They are also ahead of men in total voter turnout (53 percent). More importantly, women vote at higher rates than men. While the average voter turnout for men is 65 percent, the turnout rate for women is about 70 percent.

With abortion becoming one of the main issues in the current election, women voters, especially educated, urban and suburban women, have naturally gone orange. According to most surveys, this year's 'gender gap' is 16 percent compared to previous years, which will exceed any previous period. But in some swing states (such as Pennsylvania), 25 percent can be exceeded.

That's right, Trump's support is higher among male voters, especially white and less educated men. Among voters in this group, Trump is ahead of Orange by 9-10 percentage points. Most of the observers think that if the current survey is correct, it will be possible for Kamala to overcome this gap with the male voters only with the help of women's votes.

Trump boasted that the decision was only possible because he appointed three conservative justices to the Supreme Court who are anti-abortion. It didn't take long for Trump to realize that this legal victory would be a thorn in his side politically.

Consider Pennsylvania as an example. New polls show orange leads by 2 percentage points or more in Michigan and Wisconsin. But to get 270 Electoral College votes, he needs to capture 19 electoral votes in Pennsylvania.

Orange has 12 percentage points more support than Trump among women in the state, 55 percent versus 43 percent. On the other hand, among men, Trump's support is 54 percent, Orange's 44 percent. The actual count of votes cannot be obtained from these figures.

For that we have to see the total number of voters here and at what rate they vote. According to an election analysis by the Brookings Institution, 53 percent of voters in 2020 were women and 47 percent were men.

Brookings reports that counting the total votes cast, if women and men vote at the same rate as last time, then Kamala will get 14,794 more votes than Trump. In 2020, Joe Biden won this state by just 81,660 votes.

Two other swing states, Michigan and Wisconsin, also have orange male-to-male ratios by a good margin. The tally is 56:52 in Michigan and 56:53 in Wisconsin, in favor of Orange.

More women in early voting

There is another good news for Kamala. Already 5 crore 80 lakh people have voted in advance and by post. According to NBC's calculations, women voted 10 percent more than men.

More women voting means more votes in the orange box, one of Trump's supporters, Charlie Kirk X, wrote worriedly on Twitter, noting that women are voting at a much higher rate. Thus, if male voters stay at home, Nirkhat Kamala will be the president.

Eight years ago, Hillary Clinton faced victory but was defeated. Many American women were ashamed of Trump's victory. This is another opportunity to elect a woman president for the first time in one of the oldest republics in the world.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if that victory was achieved with the support of women voters. Women's vote can be Kamala's 'trump card'.
