Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russia's Kursk region. They demanded the destruction of another strategically important bridge in the region.
Within a week, Ukrainian forces announced the destruction of two important bridges in Russia.
The Ukrainian army released footage of the attack on the second Russian bridge on Sunday.
It is said that the bridge over the Sim River in Javanoi area of Kursk region was attacked and destroyed.
Hours after the footage was released, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces were continuing their military advance in Kursk to establish a "buffer zone" against Russian attacks in his country.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Mykola Oleschuk posted footage of the attack on the second bridge on social media. In the post, he wrote, another bridge was destroyed.
Video footage shows a portion of the bridge destroyed. Black smoke is blowing from there.
However, it is not clear when this attack was carried out.
Recently, Ukrainian forces destroyed another bridge over the Sim river near Gluskovo district of Kursk. Russia used the bridge to transport logistics including troops.
According to the Reuters news agency, Russia has accused Ukraine of wanting to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant.
According to Moscow, the West is supporting Kiev in this case. But such an attack cannot change the course of the war.
The US said Russian forces failed to launch a counterattack in the Kursk region.
This is the largest attack inside Russia since World War II. Ukraine has claimed control of the town of Sudza, 10 kilometers from the Russian border.
