- As of yesterday, the death toll in Israeli attacks has reached 33,037.
- The Israeli army is preparing for a ground operation in the Rafah area.
The number of people killed in six months of indiscriminate Israeli attacks on Gaza has exceeded 33,000. The Ministry of Health of Gaza reported this on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the cease-fire talks are still hanging because Israel has not agreed to allow the displaced Palestinians to return to their homes and to withdraw its troops.
Gaza's health ministry said yesterday that 62 more people were killed in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours. Since last October 7, 33 thousand 37 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks.
70% of the dead are women and children. Another 91 people were wounded in 24 hours in the Israeli attack. The number of injured people has reached 75 thousand 668 people.
Apart from this, eight thousand more are missing. Their bodies lie under the rubble of houses and structures destroyed by Israeli attacks. These bodies cannot be recovered due to continuous attacks. Apart from this, the rescue workers are now emphasizing on rescuing the living people.
No progress in ceasefire talks
Six months after the Israeli assault on Gaza, there is no sign of a cessation of hostilities. Reuters reports that Israeli officials traveled to Cairo, Egypt earlier this week in an effort to renew the ceasefire. However, there are no signs of reconciliation, said Palestinian officials involved in the talks.
In a speech on Wednesday ahead of Al-Quds Day, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said, 'We are firm on our demands - a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of the enemy from the Gaza Strip, the return of all displaced people to their homes, the access of the residents of Gaza to the necessary relief, Gaza. Reconstruction, lifting of the blockade and honorable prisoner exchange agreements.'
However, Israel has indicated a one-month ceasefire in exchange for the release of the hostages. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli army is preparing for a ground operation in Gaza's Rafah area. Currently, 1.5 million displaced Palestinians are staying there.
Demand justice for the killing of relief workers
Demands for justice are intensifying after Israeli strikes killed seven aid workers, including six foreigners.
They were killed in an attack on the convoy of the charity World Central Kitchen (WCK) in the coastal area of Deir al-Balah in Gaza last Monday.
In a statement, the WCK demanded an independent investigation into the attack by a third party. It was an attack by the military and was carried out multiple times, the statement said. Three WCC vehicles were targeted.
WCC founder Jose Andres said the Israeli forces carried out the attack methodically and targeted each vehicle.
Unfortunately nothing happened here and it was not a case of misplaced bombs.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu are scheduled to have a phone conversation yesterday. According to a CNN report, the issue of attack on relief workers can be seriously discussed there.
Apart from this, US Secretary of State Lloyd Austin also expressed anger over the attack on aid workers.
He demanded immediate transparent investigation of the incident and accountability of the responsible persons.
