US President Joe Biden joins his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama in a star-studded campaign fundraiser with former President Bill Clinton in attendance. However, the fund-raising campaign has been hampered by protesters protesting Biden's support for Israel's ongoing operation in Gaza.
However, organizers say that Thursday's event raised more than two and a half million dollars to fund Biden's re-election campaign.
President Biden arrived in New York after noon yesterday on Air Force One with Barack Obama to participate in the event. The event took place at the famous Radio City Music Hall.
The program was hosted by 'The Late Show' host Stephen Colbert. Former President Bill Clinton also participated in the discussion. Thousands of guests attended the event.
At the ceremony, Barack Obama supported Biden, saying that Biden has "moral clarity" on the issue of Israel and that he is interested in hearing from all sides in the debate and finding a common position.
But the program was interrupted due to the protest of some of the guests present in the huge auditorium. At various moments of the discussion, they protested Biden's support for the Israeli campaign in Gaza, Palestine.
At least 32 thousand 552 Palestinians were killed and 74 thousand 980 were injured in this valley after the attack of the Israeli forces on October 7.
"Joe Biden, shame on you," shouted one of the protesters at the event.
At that time, Barack Obama supported Biden and said that Biden has "moral clarity" on the Israel issue and that he is interested in listening to all sides and finding a common position in the debate.
When a protester interrupted Obama's speech, the former president told him, "You just talk and don't listen — that doesn't happen."
Meanwhile, before attending the event, the motorcade of the three leaders came across hundreds of protesters protesting Israel's war in Gaza.
Young and other progressive voters who supported Biden in the 2020 presidential election are now angry with Biden for supporting Israel in the Gaza war.
