Ukraine claims to have shot down a Russian A-50 military spy plane. Ukraine made such a claim for the second time in a month.

Ukrainian military sources said the plane was shot down between the Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar on Friday local time. The place is about 200 km away from the front line.

Emergency services found the wreckage in the Kanevsko area and extinguished the fire.

However, Russia has not commented on this claim of Ukraine. This Saturday marks two years since the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukrainian Air Force Chief Mykola Oleschak thanked his army and military intelligence. The aircraft had a long-range radar detector. This incident happened on the holiday of the Russian army.

"Congratulations to the occupiers," Mykola Oleschak said on social media Telegram.

In the video shared online, a lot of black smoke and fire could be seen the moment the plane was targeted.

Although nothing has been officially announced, the Telegram channel of the Russian military has said that it is not known who downed the plane.

On January 14, Ukraine claimed to have shot down an A-Fifty aircraft. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom said that Russia may have six A-50 aircraft.

These planes are built at a cost of millions of dollars. They coordinate between air defense systems and the targeting of Russian jets.

Ukraine has recently claimed significant advances against Russian forces in the southeast.

Last month, Ukrainian military officials said that along with the A-Fifty aircraft, they also destroyed the control plane of the Iwan-22.
