Russia's new bomb is creating a gap in the battlefield

A Russian bomb destroys the defenses of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield. These bombs dropped from the sky put Russia in a very advantageous position in the war. The bomb is actually from the Soviet era. Combined with new technology, it can now hit distant targets. It is so powerful that it leaves a 15 meter wide hole in the ground after impact.

The name of the bomb is FAB-1500. Weight is one and a half tons. About half of this weight is high explosives. The bomb is carried by fighter jets and launched from a distance of 60 to 70 km.

This distance is beyond the range of most of Ukraine's air defenses. Before attempting to occupy an area, Russia is wreaking havoc using FAB-1500.

Recently, a series of videos captured in the Donetsk region of Ukraine have given an idea of the massive power of Russia's new A bomb.

In this region, Ukrainian thermal power plants, factories and high-rise buildings were bombed. Ukrainian forces used these installations for their own defense.

The technology used in the FAB-1500 bomb allows it to hit a specific target. Wings are also added to guide the bomb to the target.

According to the website 'The Wire Zone', which publishes news about war-conflict, the Russian pilots are able to throw the bomb from a safe distance from the enemy's defense system.

"Before, we were only attacked with artillery fire," a Ukrainian soldier told CNN last week from the battlefield in Krasnohorivka, Donetsk. Now Russian forces are attacking the city of Krasnohorivka more aggressively. They are using various Air Force weapons, especially the FAB-1500.'

The Ukrainian army said, 'Why are they using FAB-1500? Because, the damage of this bomb is serious. Even if you survive it, you are sure to be seriously injured. It is having a big impact on the morale of our soldiers. Although they have adapted themselves to the risk of this bombing, it is still hell.

FAB-1500 bombs have become an important tool in the attack of the Russian forces in the Donetsk region. Last February, Russian troops occupied the town of Avdivka in the region. The bomb was used to destroy Ukrainian defenses in the city.

According to Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat, "Russian forces dropped hundreds of bombs from the air in the days leading up to and during the fighting in Avdivka." In 48 hours, 250 bombs were dropped on the city.

The Soviet-era FAB-1500 bomb is being modified and remanufactured at a factory near Moscow. Low-cost bombs are becoming more and more missiles. Justin Bronk, a researcher at the Royal United Services Institute, a London-based research institute, said that it is quite time-consuming to make a new bomb. But Russia has a large stockpile of old Soviet-era bombs.

Ukraine's air defense system needs to be strengthened to counter FAB-1500 bombs, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said. He said, 'Our air defense system is getting stronger day by day. But we still don't have enough air defense system. Russian forces are using the bomb not only to hit our frontline positions, but also to target the military installations behind them.

According to Yuri Ihnat, the bombs are being dropped from Russian Sukhoi-35 and Sukhoi-34 fighter jets. They don't even have to come close to the target to hit. If Ukraine had a longer-range air defense system, the warplanes could have been destroyed before they approached the battle front.

The role of the Russian air force was very limited at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. However, because of the FAB-1500 bomb, they have become more active now, says researcher Justin Bronk. He said, only the Patriot air defense system in the hands of Ukraine has the ability to stop these bombs. However, very few of these US-made defense systems are in the hands of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, US Congressional obstruction is delaying renewed military aid to Ukraine. As a result, the stockpile of Patriot missiles in Kiev's hands has also decreased.
