Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Iran have been restored after days of tension over retaliatory attacks. This was reported by the office of Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, Prime Minister of Pakistan's caretaker government.

Recently, the diplomatic tension between the two countries started due to the counter-attacks of Iran and Pakistan. The ambassadors of the two countries were also recalled in response to the retaliatory attacks.

According to Pakistan, the ambassadors of the two countries are expected to return to their respective duties after the talks. However, there was no immediate comment from Iran regarding talks with Pakistan.

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan said that it is interested in working with Iran on all issues. The country said this after a phone conversation between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Pakistan's foreign ministry also said that the two sides have agreed to normalize the situation. Discussions were also held regarding the reinstatement of the ambassadors of the two countries who had withdrawn due to the tension.

On January 16, Tehran launched its first attack on Pakistan's Balochistan. In response, Pakistan expelled Iran's ambassador. Pakistan's ambassador was also recalled from Tehran. Then, on Thursday, Pakistan counterattacked in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan province.

Pakistan says two children were killed in Iran's attack. And Iran says that 9 people, including four children, were killed in Pakistan's counter-attack.

The retaliatory attacks between the two neighbors Pakistan and Iran come at a time when tensions are rising across the Middle East over several crises.

On the one hand, Israel continues to attack the Palestinian independence organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Israel is also in conflict with Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Again, Iran-backed groups in Iraq and Syria are targeting US forces. The US and UK are targeting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Houthis are again attacking ships in the Red Sea.
